Remote support

Online help when the problem does not need a visit
Residential $70/hr, business $90/hr

Remote support works well when your computer turns on and has a reliable connection. You stay at the keyboard, you can watch the whole session, and you can ask IT Wes to pause or stop at any point.

What usually fits remotely

  • Software, Windows, and error message questions
  • Browsers, extensions, and email setup
  • Account recovery guidance and multi-factor setup
  • A security review after a suspicious message
  • Training and follow-up after an in-person visit

What is better in person

  • Wi-Fi coverage and router placement
  • Printer setup and desktop equipment
  • Data transfers and several connected devices
  • Hardware faults, and any computer that should stay offline

How a session starts

  • IT Wes names either Splashtop SOS or Zoho Assist during your call or text
  • You open only the option named, then read back the code on your screen
  • Never open a remote tool because an unexpected caller or pop-up asked you to

Choosing a starting point

Not sure which one fits?

You do not need to pick correctly before reaching out. Describe what is happening, and IT Wes will suggest the simplest safe path.

  • Choose remote support when the computer turns on and reaches the internet.
  • Choose a Tucson visit for Wi-Fi coverage, printers, desktops, and hardware.
  • Choose the Care Plan when you would rather prevent problems than react to them.
  • Choose business support when the issue affects staff, shared devices, or company accounts.
  • Still unsure? Call or text, and IT Wes will help you decide before anything is scheduled.

Questions, answered

Common questions about IT Wes services

How do I know which service I need?

Start with what is happening rather than trying to diagnose it first. Call, text, or email a short description, and IT Wes will suggest whether a remote session, a scheduled Tucson visit, or the Care Plan is the practical next step.

What does IT Wes charge?

Residential support is $70 per hour remote and $90 per hour on-site. Small business support is $90 per hour remote and $120 per hour on-site. The applicable rate and the planned scope are confirmed before billable work begins.

Can IT Wes set up a domain name, business email, or website?

Yes. That covers registering or transferring a domain name, setting up professional email at your own business name, arranging website hosting or web space, and moving a domain, mailbox, or site to a different provider. Transfers are planned around your mail so messages keep arriving during the change.

Do you serve areas outside Tucson?

Scheduled on-site service covers Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, and Catalina Foothills. Remote support is available more broadly whenever the issue can be handled safely online.

Can the Care Plan cover more than one computer?

Yes. The Care Plan is $50 per supported home computer each month. Setup for one computer is $50. For multiple household computers, we confirm the total setup charge before payment. Each covered computer includes 30 minutes of remote support per month.

What if my problem is not listed on this page?

Ask anyway. These categories cover the most common requests, not every situation. If something falls outside what IT Wes handles, you will get a straight answer and a pointer toward the right place to go instead.
