1. Who this notice covers
This notice applies to the public pages on itwes.com, the private IT Wes service desk, the free Security Checkup, Care Plan enrollment, and communications related to IT Wes services. It does not replace a customer agreement or a third party's own privacy notice.
IT Wes LLC is a small technology service business based in Tucson, Arizona. In this notice, “IT Wes,” “I,” and “me” refer to IT Wes LLC and Wesley Schaeppi when acting for the company.
2. Information the website and services may collect
Website use and analytics
Most public pages use Google Analytics. Google may receive information such as the page visited, referring page, browser and device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers. IT Wes also records limited events when someone selects a call, text, email, remote-support, safety-guide, or Stripe-checkout link. The event can include the destination URL and the visible link label.
The Security Checkup page does not load Google Analytics.
Calls, texts, email, and support requests
If you contact IT Wes, I receive the information you choose to provide. That can include your name, phone number, email address, device or business details, the problem you are trying to solve, and the contents of the conversation.
The private service desk collects a name, phone number, optional email address, and a written description of the problem. It also uses a short-lived session cookie. A one-way representation of the requester’s IP address may be kept briefly to slow repeated automated submissions. The temporary request is removed from the pending queue after it is securely imported and acknowledged by the service-management system.
Purchases and billing
Care Plan and prepaid-support purchases use Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe receives the payment-card and billing information entered on its page. IT Wes receives transaction details such as the customer’s contact information, the item purchased, payment status, amount, and identifiers needed to provide support and maintain business records. IT Wes does not receive the complete payment-card number entered into Stripe Checkout.
Remote and in-person support
During a support session, IT Wes may see information displayed on the device or shared by the customer. Remote-support tools may process session codes, device and connection details, technician activity, chat, clipboard, file-transfer, or diagnostic information depending on the session. If a session will be recorded, IT Wes will tell you before recording begins.
Care Plan service data
If you join the Care Plan, the tools configured during onboarding may process device health, update status, security alerts, backup status, device identifiers, and support history. The specific tools, backup scope, and covered devices are confirmed during onboarding.
Security Checkup answers
The free Security Checkup keeps answers in the current browser tab. It does not automatically transmit or save them to IT Wes. If you choose “Discuss with Wes,” your email app opens with a summary and the complete report is copied to your clipboard so you can decide whether to paste or send it. Your email provider then handles anything you send.
3. Why IT Wes uses information
IT Wes uses information for practical business purposes, including:
- Responding to questions and support requests.
- Confirming identity, authority, device ownership, and the requested scope of work.
- Providing, securing, maintaining, and improving services.
- Processing purchases, preventing fraud, keeping accounting records, and handling refunds or disputes.
- Understanding which website pages and contact options are useful.
- Protecting IT Wes, customers, service providers, and the public from abuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity.
- Complying with legal, tax, insurance, and professional obligations.
An inbound service message is used to respond to that request. It is not treated as blanket consent for unrelated marketing texts or automated campaigns.
4. Who may receive information
IT Wes shares information only when reasonably needed for the purposes described above. Recipient categories can include:
- Website hosting, security, and infrastructure providers.
- Google Analytics for website measurement.
- Stripe for checkout, payment processing, fraud prevention, receipts, and billing administration.
- Remote-support providers such as Splashtop SOS or Zoho Assist, and the support tool identified before a session begins.
- Service-management, communications, backup, monitoring, endpoint-security, and accounting providers used to deliver the requested service.
- Professional advisers, insurers, banks, government authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary to protect rights, respond to a lawful request, or complete a business transaction involving IT Wes LLC.
IT Wes does not sell customer contact or service records for money and does not operate an advertising network. This site is not configured to display targeted advertising. Google may still collect activity over time and across websites as explained in Google’s partner-site privacy explanation.
5. Cookies and analytics choices
Google Analytics may set or read cookies and similar identifiers to distinguish visits and prepare reports. The private service desk uses a necessary session cookie that expires after about 12 hours or when the session is ended.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Doing that can affect some features. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Browsers do not use one consistent Do Not Track standard, so this website does not currently respond to a Do Not Track signal. If a legally recognized privacy preference signal applies to IT Wes and its data practices, IT Wes will handle it as required by law.
6. How long information is kept
IT Wes keeps information only as long as reasonably needed for support, billing, taxes, security, warranties, insurance, dispute handling, legal obligations, and a continuing customer relationship.
- The service desk’s temporary queue copy is removed after secure import and acknowledgment.
- The service desk rate-limit record is designed to expire after about 30 minutes.
- Support, invoice, and transaction records may be kept longer when they are part of the business record for a customer or job.
- Analytics information is kept according to the configured Google Analytics retention settings and reviewed as business needs change.
- Care Plan device and backup data is handled according to the onboarding record, the selected provider’s settings, and the Care Plan Terms. Offboarding can require a short period to remove tools and complete a requested return or deletion.
Backups, logs, fraud-prevention records, and legal holds can cause some copies to remain longer. IT Wes may also retain enough information to document a request, honor an opt-out, prevent fraud, or establish legal rights.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask IT Wes to describe the information connected to you, correct it, provide a copy, or delete it. You may also ask about the service providers involved in your work. These choices are offered in good faith to all customers, even when a particular privacy law does not require every request.
IT Wes may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Some information can be retained when needed for payment records, security, a continuing service, legal compliance, or a dispute. A request will not result in unlawful discrimination.
Send a privacy request by email, call (520) 500-8WES, or write to wes@itwes.com. Please do not include secrets or highly sensitive information in the request.
8. Security and sensitive information
IT Wes uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the type of information involved. No website, email system, remote tool, or storage service can promise perfect security.
Please keep secrets out of ordinary messages
Do not send passwords, one-time verification codes, complete payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical records, private keys, or other regulated information through ordinary email, text, the service desk, or the Security Checkup. Ask IT Wes for an appropriate method first.
9. Children
The website and services are intended for adults and businesses. They are not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can contact IT Wes for review and deletion.
10. U.S. service and outside links
IT Wes currently offers remote service within the United States and on-site service in the Tucson area. Information may be processed in the United States by IT Wes and its service providers.
The website links to outside services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own notices. Examples include Stripe, Google, Splashtop, and Zoho.
11. Changes and contact
This notice may change when the website, vendors, or services change. The effective date will be updated here. If a change materially affects an existing paid service or requires direct notice or consent, IT Wes will provide it through an appropriate customer channel.
Questions can be sent to wes@itwes.com or discussed by phone at (520) 500-8WES.
