1. Agreement and scope
These Website Terms of Use apply when you browse or use itwes.com, download a public guide, or use a free website tool. If you do not agree, do not use the affected content or tool.
“IT Wes,” “I,” and “me” refer to IT Wes LLC and Wesley Schaeppi when acting for the company. “You” means the person or organization using the website.
These terms do not govern hands-on service, remote access, a Care Plan subscription, prepaid hours, custom computer work, product sales, or an agreed business project. Those activities need their own accepted order, work authorization, or service agreement. If a transaction-specific agreement conflicts with these terms, the transaction-specific agreement controls for that transaction.
2. No service relationship from browsing
Reading the website, sending a message, or using a free tool does not by itself create a technician-client relationship, managed-security relationship, fiduciary duty, audit engagement, or promise that IT Wes will accept a job. A service relationship begins only when IT Wes accepts the work and the parties agree on the scope and price.
3. Technical articles and free resources
The resources on this site are general educational information. Technology changes quickly, and a step that is appropriate for one device or account can cause data loss, downtime, warranty problems, or security issues on another.
Before following technical instructions:
- Confirm that you own the device, account, software, or system, or have clear authority from the owner.
- Make a current, separate backup and confirm that important files can be restored.
- Read the current manufacturer, software, and service-provider instructions.
- Stop if the steps exceed your experience or if the device contains important, regulated, or irreplaceable data.
Content about malware, scams, passwords, cryptocurrency, backups, drive cloning, repair, or command-line tools is not a promise of a particular outcome. It is not legal, financial, insurance, compliance, or emergency advice.
4. Security Checkup
The free Security Checkup is also governed by the separate Security Checkup Terms. It is a simplified self-assessment, not a vulnerability scan, penetration test, certification, or professional audit.
5. Permitted use
You may browse the public site, share links to public pages, and print or save a reasonable copy for your own personal or internal business use. Any copyright or ownership notice should remain with the copy.
You may not:
- Use the site or its instructions to access, damage, monitor, or change a system without authorization.
- Probe, scan, test, bypass, or defeat the security of the website, private service desk, or related systems without IT Wes’s written permission.
- Introduce malware, overload the service, interfere with another visitor, or misuse a private access link.
- Impersonate another person, submit false information, infringe intellectual property, or use the site for unlawful or abusive activity.
- Copy, republish, sell, or commercially exploit substantial website content without written permission, except where law allows it.
6. Ownership
The website’s original text, design, graphics, photographs, downloads, code, and branding are owned by IT Wes LLC or used with permission, unless another owner is identified. IT Wes and the IT Wes logo are business identifiers. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.
No ownership is transferred to you. The limited permission in section 5 ends if these terms are violated.
7. Third-party sites and tools
The site links to services such as Stripe, Google, Splashtop, Zoho, software vendors, manufacturers, and outside articles. A link does not mean IT Wes controls or guarantees that service. The provider’s own terms, privacy notice, pricing, availability, and software license apply.
Only start a remote-support download while you are already communicating with IT Wes through the contact information published on this site. IT Wes will not unexpectedly call and demand access, payment, passwords, or verification codes.
8. Accuracy and availability
I try to keep the site clear and accurate, but I cannot promise that every page is complete, current, error-free, or available at all times. Prices, vendors, software, links, and service availability can change. A written quote or accepted order controls over general website copy for a paid job.
If you notice an error or unsafe instruction, please tell IT Wes so it can be reviewed.
9. Disclaimers for free website use
The website and free resources are provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent the law allows, IT Wes does not make implied warranties about the free site content, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement.
This paragraph applies to free website use only. It does not erase a written promise in a paid-service agreement or a consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
10. Limits for claims about free website use
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IT Wes is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss caused solely by using or being unable to use the free website or general educational content. This includes lost data, revenue, opportunity, or business interruption when the law permits that limitation.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that the law does not allow IT Wes to limit.
11. Privacy
The Privacy Notice explains how the website and IT Wes services handle information. Do not submit passwords, verification codes, complete payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical records, private keys, or other regulated information through ordinary site, email, or text channels.
12. Arizona law and disputes
Before starting a formal dispute about the website, please contact IT Wes and describe the concern. A direct conversation often resolves misunderstandings faster.
Arizona law governs these terms to the extent it can lawfully do so. Any court proceeding about these website terms will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Pima County, Arizona, unless applicable consumer law requires another location. Nonwaivable rights remain available.
13. Changes and contact
IT Wes may update these terms as the website changes. The updated date will appear at the top. A change applies prospectively. Posting new Website Terms is not treated as consent to a material change in an existing paid-service agreement.
